The building received a thorough energy renovation in 2023, thanks to the financing for energy efficiency and circular economy projects of tourism companies in Catalonia, within the framework of the European Next Generation and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Facility.

These funds, managed by the Department of Business and Labour of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, in the area of Tourism, have made it possible to make the following improvements to energy performance:

+ Building envelope upgrade: All the windows in the building have been upgraded, making them windproof and waterproof and changing out the glass for one with an air chamber and solar protection filter. The entire building has also been insulated with a SATE system consisting of 8 cm of rigid rock wool. With this action, the overall energy transmittance has been lowered, attaining grade A on the official energy assessment scale.

+ Heating system improvement: A hot water production system from a biomass plant had already been installed in the building in 2008. Currently, with the aid received, the entire internal distribution network has been upgraded, allowing each cell to operate independently and managed digitally. Now, the use of heating and hot water is highly efficient and very selective to serve only those cells that are occupied.

+ Lighting upgrade: The entire building has been equipped with high-efficiency LED lighting and presence sensors and backlighting has also been installed in the common areas. This makes for a very precise operation, where the lights are turned on only when necessary.

Next Generation grants pursuant to ORDER EMT/254/2022 of 28 November 2022. File SEC041/22/000034 of the grant received for this building.
